Meta is making changes to how businesses pay for advertising across Facebook and Instagram.
For some advertisers, this means moving away from credit card payments and switching to monthly invoicing or bank-based payment methods instead.
If you have been earning credit card rewards on your advertising spend, this change could impact both the rewards you earn and how you manage cash flow.
The good news is that with PayRewards, you can continue earning rewards on your advertising spend even as Meta’s billing policies evolve.
What are the changes?
Meta is beginning to transition some advertisers from paying for ads with credit cards to monthly invoicing or bank-based payment methods, such as ACH transfers or direct debit.
Under this model, advertising spend accumulates over a billing period and is consolidated into a single invoice issued by Meta. Businesses typically have around 30 days to pay the invoice.
While Meta has not announced a universal removal of credit card payments, the change appears to primarily affect higher-spend advertisers and accounts linked to business portfolios. Some businesses have already received notices prompting them to transition to invoicing.
If your account is affected, Meta will typically notify you through Billing & Payments in Business Manager or via email.
How is this impacting businesses?
For many businesses, this change has two major implications.
- Losing credit card rewards
Many companies run large amounts of advertising spend through rewards credit cards.
When those payments move to bank transfer or direct debit, the ability to earn points or cash back on that spend can disappear.
For businesses spending tens or hundreds of thousands on ads each month, the lost rewards can be significant. - Cash flow changes
Credit cards typically provide a payment float through statement cycles, allowing businesses to manage their working capital more flexibly.
Monthly invoicing shifts this dynamic. While invoices may have 30-day payment terms, the timing of billing cycles can affect how businesses manage their advertising budgets and cash flow.
How PayRewards can help
Even with Meta’s billing changes, you can still earn rewards on your advertising spend using PayRewards.
Here’s how it works.
- Switch your Meta Ads account to invoicing
If your account is required to move away from credit cards, Meta will prompt you to enable monthly invoicing. - Receive your Meta invoice
Your advertising spend is consolidated into a monthly invoice issued by Meta. - Pay the invoice through PayRewards
Instead of paying Meta directly via ACH transfer, pay the invoice through PayRewards using your preferred credit card. - Earn PayRewards Points on top
When you pay through PayRewards, you can also earn PayRewards Points on your advertising spend.
Even if you choose to pay by ACH transfer through the platform, you can still earn rewards depending on your PayRewards package.
This allows you to:
-
Use your credit card to fund the payment
-
Maintain cash flow flexibility
-
Earn your regular credit card rewards
